Life gets hectic. We get it. We know it’s not a lack of desire to properly raise and train your dog, but an issue of time. Don’t worry! We have a comprehensive ‘Board & Train’ programme to take your dog’s training to the next level. Our Board & Train programme is ideal for dog parents who want a well-trained dog, but have a very busy work schedule, or parents away on vacation who want a well-mannered dog upon their return. Let our canine behaviour expert do the work so you know your dog will come home with results you will be happy with! This intensive programme is centered around your personal lifestyle, goals and needs. Throughout the programme, your dog will receive many one-on-one customized training sessions, which will vary in agenda and environment. We offer services for dogs of all types, sizes, and breeds.

All of our basic Board & Train packages include a mandatory in-depth ‘Meet & Greet’ consultation with the dog parents, which includes us obtaining information on their past experiences, current lifestyle, and their overall health. Also we can evaluate your dog’s compatibility with our services during the ‘Meet & Greet’.

You also receive photo and video updates, which will allow you to follow along with your dog’s progress and demonstrate how to replicate the training exercises at home. Advanced training packages include a follow-up session at your home to ensure that all of the training gets transitioned over to you in your everyday real-life environment.

Our first day with your dog starts by getting them settled in as we spend time getting to know their unique personalities! Once we have established a connection with your dog, we begin to play fear-free training games with the dog. For a more personalized experience, we provide parents with a report card detailing the activities and behavioral habits of their dogs during the stay.

Boarding Facility

We know that each dog is different and the level of activity & type of play will be customized to match their personality during their stay with us. Our experienced staff provides top-notch care for your dogs, who understand that your dog is a big part of your family and treat them accordingly. Our third shift team stays with your dog overnight to ensure safety, security, and peace of mind. Our daily housekeeping team immediately cleans up any messes that are made to keep our space completely odor free and keep your dog’s food + water bowls clean and sanitized. We also do frequent, thorough cleanings of the facility, using dog-safe, environment-friendly cleaning products.

At CCC, your dog will have a fun-filled day full of walks and play and they will enjoy a safe and fun environment to thrive in.
For a more personalized experience, we provide parents with a report card detailing the activities and behavioral habits of their dogs during the stay.

Attention

  •  We are happy to accept most dogs and breeds as long as they are non-aggressive. Any dogs showing clear signs of aggressive (reactive) behavior during the ‘Temperament Test’ will not be accepted into CCC. Parents will need to certify that their dog(s) have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dog(s). Guaranteeing the safety of all of our guests is our priority.

  •  We also cannot take dogs who have a tendency to jump fences or dogs who bark or howl excessively. Any dog that may, at any time, show signs of anxiety over being parted from their parents will only be accepted at the parent’s risk.

  •  Please make us aware of your dog’s individual needs and well-being conditions ahead of time, as well as what to do if something changes. Because we always want your dog’s boarding experience to be a success for them and for you.

  •  CCC requires all dogs entering and leaving the facility to be on leashes for their safety and the safety of the dog parents.

What should you bring when you board your dog at Cognizant Canine Citizens

  • Your dog’s food (kibble) and any medication he/she is currently taking
  • Personal food & water bowls
  • Meds/supplements
  • Vaccination record book + health certificate + blood/fecal reports + prescriptions (if any)
  • ID tag
  • Leash + collar + harness
  • Towel + blanket if needed
  • Personal toys

Requirement

In order to keep safety at the forefront, we require a few documents listed below. Our guidelines are set forth to ensure the health and safety of all boarding participants:

👉🏼 All dogs must be at least 16 weeks of age.

👉🏼 All dogs must have up to date Canine Distemper, Canine Parvo, and Rabies vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian.

👉🏼 All dogs must be free of ticks and fleas. All dogs are checked thoroughly for ticks and fleas upon check-in. If dogs have fleas and/or ticks, they will be treated immediately at the parent’s expense before being allowed to enter.

👉🏼 All dogs must be in good health. Parents certify that their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. So a CERTIFICATION OF HEALTH from a licensed veterinarian is required.

👉🏼 A fecal report of intestinal parasite examination with negative results may be required prior to the admission of your dog to the boarding facility.

👉🏼 All new dogs must have an “Temperament Test” in order to board or attend Daycare at CCC. This is a 30-60 minute process of introducing your dog to our staff to figure out their temperament, play style and activity level. This is to ensure your dog is safe for our handlers to be around.

👉🏼 Intact female dogs will be considered only if her parents know the timing of their dog’s heat cycle. While we understand that many parents elect to keep their dogs intact for health or other reasons, a boarding facility can be a dangerous environment for an intact dog.

👉🏼 Due to safety issues, if your dog has severe health issues, we cannot board them and advise you to board at a veterinary boarding facility.

Refusal of Services:

Cognizant Canine Citizens reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog, for any reason, at any time. The emergency contact listed will be called & required to come pick the dog up immediately. Refusal may include those dogs that cannot or do not have adequate documentation of vaccinations, show signs of an illness, demonstrate aggressive behavior or fail to meet the temperament and safety requirements of our facility.

Note: To confirm the reservation, a deposit of 50% of the total amount and a Caution Money is mandatory. The caution money will be fully refunded during the drop off time. If you are unable to keep your reservation with us, we kindly ask you to notify us at least 72 hours before the reservation start time to receive a full refund of your deposit. Any cancellation within 24 hours of a reservation start time will forfeit the deposited 50% of the total amount. But we will be happy to reschedule the reservation within the next 3 months. All reservations must be made at least 7 days prior to drop off. We happily accept dogs during Public Holidays but there will be no discount.
